1. Agreement and scope

These Terms apply to the SlopTest app, website, and related services. By downloading, accessing, or using SlopTest, you agree to these Terms. If you cannot legally agree, a parent or guardian must review and accept them. If you do not agree, do not use SlopTest.

SlopTest currently has no subscriptions, in-app purchases, or paid features. Apple's standard end-user licence agreement also applies to the iOS app. These Terms supplement that licence and govern the SlopTest service and content. Mandatory law and Apple's standard licence prevail if there is a conflict.

2. Licence

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use SlopTest on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by Apple's usage rules. No ownership rights are transferred to you.

3. The game and leaderboard

SlopTest asks you to decide whether images are real or AI-generated. Labels and explanations are prepared for the game and may be incomplete or wrong. SlopTest is not a forensic, journalistic, or professional verification tool. Do not rely on a game result to make decisions about a person, creator, or piece of media.

The app may submit pseudonymous scores to a public leaderboard using a generic display name. Our Privacy Policy explains the associated data and deletion controls.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

• break the law or infringe another person's rights;
• interfere with SlopTest or another user's access;
• bypass security, rate limits, or access controls;
• scrape, copy, or redistribute the image catalogue except as law permits;
• reverse engineer the service except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
• submit malicious code, automated traffic, or false requests; or
• impersonate another person.

5. Content and intellectual property

The app, design, software, branding, explanations, and compilation of content are owned by SlopTest or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. Individual photographs and other assets may belong to third-party licensors and remain subject to their licence terms.

You may share score cards created by the app for personal, non-commercial use, provided you do not remove attribution or rights notices. If you believe content is unauthorized, email tom@tterado.com with enough detail to identify the material and the basis of your claim.

6. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle pseudonymous gameplay information. Deleting an anonymous account permanently removes its associated account, guess, and result records from the active database, subject to temporary backup retention.

7. Availability, changes, and ending access

We may add, change, or remove challenges, features, or leaderboard rules; suspend the service for maintenance or security; or discontinue the service. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes where practicable. The app may require updates to continue working.

We may restrict or end access when reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, security risk, abuse, or a material breach of these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time and can delete your anonymous account in Settings.

8. Disclaimers

SlopTest is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not promise uninterrupted availability, perfect accuracy, compatibility with every device, or that every defect will be corrected. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees, or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Liability and consumer rights

To the extent permitted by law, SlopTest is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the service, loss of access, reliance on a game label, or an event outside our reasonable control. This limitation does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, personal injury caused by negligence, or liability that cannot legally be limited.

Australian consumers may have rights and remedies under the Australian Consumer Law that these Terms do not exclude, restrict, or modify.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the service or law changes. The updated version will show a new date. We will communicate material changes where required. If you do not accept an update, stop using SlopTest and delete your anonymous account.

11. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without excluding mandatory rights available under the laws where you live. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes.
